My name is Cheryl Caragan and I was 19 years old when I got my first pit bull, back in 1980. Prior to this I had owned many other breeds of dogs and had never heard of a pit bull. Well that wonderful day I bought my first American Pit Bull Terrier from a breeder in California and began a life long love for the breed. At that time it was hard to find any information on Pit Bulls, so my search for knowledge began. I have spent the last 30 years still learning about my breed of choice.

My first Pit bull was a fawn and white red nose and her name was Caragan's Mai

A few years later I got my second Pit Bull male, a black brindle named Grices Ruger Spike, and my weight pull days started with ADBA. Ruger came to live with me at the age of 14 months with his tail docked why I don't know. He was an incredible dog and loved to weight pull and traveled with me all over the country. The largest weight he ever pulled was 4750 in Texas in 1987. Ruger was very tightly bred dog coming down from Tudor's, Williams and Lonzo bred dogs.

Then came a Colby dog, female all white black nose named Caragan's Angel Baby
