Announcing Cheryl Caragan as the new President of the Evergreen State American Pit Bull Terrier Club ADBSI sanctioned club. I am looking forward to a great year in 2008 for the ESAPBTC and putting on a fantastic show in July 12 & 13 2008 to help promote the positive side of this breed.

One of my goals for this website is to help educate people on my breed of choice American Pit Bull Terrier. The APBT has a history and those interested should learn as much as possible and use all the internet resources available today. Unfortunately over the last 15 years or so, breeders with no actual knowledge have taken the pit bull to height and weight limits that are not acceptable in the bull dog world meaning real pure bred American Pit Bull Terriers of the standard they were meant to be. In fact it is my opinion that these hugely over done Hybrid (to what I'm not sure, if you want an Old English Bulldog then get a real one) pit bulls that are not pure bred, but are bred merely for bigger is better mentality. They are ruining a wonderful and courageous breed and should be called something else for they are not pit bulls any longer. A real APBT should be athletic, structurally sound and a solid temperament as they were bred and used for many working aspects and were family pets. If you see a pit bull that has a huge body and head and 4 inch legs that can't make a trip around the yard let alone the block, think again is it real or hybrid. It is important to educate yourself on a breed you intend to own. So if you are confused on what's what then ask as many questions from reputable breeders and do your home work. Owning an APBT is a huge responsibility and only dedicated owners should apply. Please note I do not sell puppies to breeders and buyers are screened. I breed for my own purposes and pets are spayed/neutered and or culled. I have spent many years studying and researching the pedigree's on my dogs and I know what I have. Check out my home page for information on the difference in types of Pit Bulls out there. Do your homework before buying a dog.

Please note any APBT kennel that is breeding American Bullies or BULLY and calling them APBT's are misrepresenting the American Pit Bull Terrier and should not be taken seriously. These are backyard breeders that are destroying the APBT and have absolutely no respect for the history and or knowledge of this breed for a buck.

Caragan Kennel has bred some of the top winning red noses on the West Coast for 28 years. Many of the other red nose kennels carry Xia and her progeny on their pedigrees, and I want to thank them for recognizing her contributions to the breed. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I have always bred my dogs based on what I felt was a beautiful and structurally correct pure bred APBT with temperament first, not for titles or name recognition as many other breeders have been known to do.

BIG CONGRATS ! Way to go Matrix Kennel for Trinity beating her grandmothers ranking of 2006 #2 APBT Top Producing Dam in UKC. What people need to keep in mind is the dedication it takes to breed a quality dog and then the dedication it takes to compete with that dog, Matrix Kennel spent a lot of time and money getting these titles on Trinity and proper placement of her progeny. I like the fact that a pure bred red nose APBT's are on top, making the scratch in all aspects in UKC!! There is nothing better than a pit that can out produce, compete in conformation and weight pull.

Magnum has completed his UWPCH UWPV UWPO at 9 1/2 years old and in 2007 will be achieving his UWP Versitel, Outstanding & Supreme Weight Pull titles. Thank you Kinney Duenas for your hard work with Magnum
